Cancer can be good. Already several our our friends have been "scared straight" and made doctor appointments. If you haven't, please consider having the early screening tests for cancer: pap smear, mammogram, and colonoscopy.
Did you know there is no early screening test for pancreatic cancer? It is a bad cancer, it often shows NO symptoms until it has progressed to the later stages. (Ron has a stage IV cancer.)
Because of the location of the pancreas, there can be a lot of bad pain. Ron has been dealing with the pain and we are trying to find the right medication and intervals so that he is more comfortable.
He is scheduled to start chemotherapy on Tuesday. That is when it could get ugly.
Pancreatic cancer doesn't always respond to chemo...it is just that evil! We are hopeful that the "newest" chemo mix will do its job and stop the spread of the cancer.
Tomorrow we will meet the oncology nurse and she will explain the regime as well as the new medications. Ron has graduated to the "master pillbox".
